Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Carlos Miguel, formerly of Corinthians, may seal one of the most controversial transfers of the transfer window.

The 26-year-old is negotiating his move to Corinthians' fierce rival Palmeiras, after a difficult stint in England.

Carlos Miguel's initial departure from Corinthians to Nottingham Forest was not amicable. The goalkeeper had just secured the starting position, marking the end of the iconic Cássio's tenure when he decided to leave. Forest paid the €4 million buy-out clause and took the player to the Premier League.

The experience did not go as Carlos Miguel had hoped, he played only three games for Forest since then. Dissatisfied with the situation, the goalkeeper has looked for alternatives in the market and found Palmeiras among the interested parties.

To secure 26-year-old Carlos Miguel, Palmeiras are expected to pay the same amount invested by Forest to acquire him from Corinthians. The goalkeeper arrives to replace another icon, Weverton, who turns 38 at the end of 2025 and has just one more season planned in his contract with Verdão.
