Omar Richards is set to complete a loan move from Nottingham Forest to Olympiacos within the coming days.

That is according to a report from the Athletic, who cite his desperation to secure match fitness as the main motivator behind the move.

Richards arrived from Bayern Munich in an £8.5m deal last summer but has yet to play a single minute of action for Steve Cooper’s side.

Upon signing, he was in the midst of recovery from a leg fracture and suffered several setbacks in his rehabilitation since then.

Although he was part of the club’s pre-season trip to Spain, he sustained another injury, leading to the club’s and his own willingness to seek a temporary move to get up to speed.

It is now 15 months since the 25-year-old last featured on the field of play.
