Football fans pick the best English player of 2023/24 Premier League season in YouGov poll | OneFootball

The England international has been in stunning form throughout the current campaign for Man City, netting a career best 16 league goals in 31 appearances thus far - coupled with an impressive tally of seven assists.

In the stead of the injured Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland at times, the 23-year-old has been City's undisputed match winner. The attacking midfielder's three goals in two games against Manchester United, and his hat tricks in wins over Brentford and high-flying Aston Villa have been vital to the club's attempts to win a record-breaking fourth consecutive Premier League title.

Thanks to his performances, Foden has been named the best English player of the 2023/24 Premier League in a poll conducted by YouGov - earning a whopping 48% of total votes.

Trailing behind in second place with 23% of votes was Chelsea's new star Cole Palmer. The ex-Man City player has netted a rather remarkable 20 Premier League goals in his first season at Stamford Bridge, enjoying a stunning spell in which he bagged 10 goals and three assists in March and April 2024 alone.

In third place, Declan Rice garnered 20% of votes for his performances at his new club Arsenal. The England international has been the engine room of the Gunners' midfield throughout the campaign, and has even chipped in with crucial goals against Manchester United and Chelsea too.

With 9% of votes, Ollie Watkins came in fourth in the YouGov poll. Watkins has been Aston Villa's star man during a surprisingly fantastic season, chipping in with 31 goal contributions in 34 league appearances.

All four players will be hoping that their fine form throughout the 2023/24 season will be enough to earn them spots in England's Euro 2024 squad this summer.
