Wesley Fofana has detailed his move to Leicester City last summer.
The Foxes signed Fofana from St Etienne last summer after protracted negotiations.
He told Oh My Goal: "My transfer to Leicester was complicated for several things. The ASSE mentality at that time was to keep me, but if there was an offer…. There I spoke before the final of the Coupe de France, before the match against Paris which reveals me in the eyes of France etc. If there is an offer of 20 million, I go. But this final changed everything.
"Executives have spoken out to say 'Wesley Fofana, it will be 30 million now!' Nobody asked them anything at the base but they spoke. Me, at that moment, I did not think of leaving. I have had discussions with some clubs but I am focused on Saint-Etienne.
"Then Leicester comes and I want to go to Leicester. Several days I have talks with the coach, Kolo Touré. I want to go. Leicester made offers to Saint-Etienne but I saw that at one point it got stuck. I made a statement that I want to go to Leicester. This press release is not taken well by Saint-Etienne. I told the truth to let everyone know that I wanted to go to Leicester.
"I will bring 40 million back to my training club. I forced them to really let me leave."
