Manchester City star Phil Foden has been hitting new heights this season, already scoring six goals and providing three assists.

Speaking to the Man City website Foden reminisced about his hat trick against Manchester United which earned him the nickname ‘tap in king’.

“Always in my head, I wanted to get a hat trick. A couple of seasons ago I got two goals against Burnley and was thinking too hard about it,” explained the England International.

“Once I got the two goals against United I decided to not think about it and keep playing my game and then Erling [Haaland] managed to find me and the third goal has gone in. I was delighted.

“Especially for it to be against United it made it ten times better for me, I’m still on the up from it now. I’ve never watched my goals back more in my life.

“Bernardo put [on the signed match ball] ‘the tap in king’. Did he not see the first goal? That wasn’t a tap-in, was it!”

Manchester City return to Premier League action on Saturday as they host Leicester City.
