With the FC Salzburg flag hoisted and spirits high on board, our Red Bulls took a very special boat tour on Friday. They sailed along the Hudson River past the iconic Statue of Liberty to go around the incredible Manhattan skyline – amid some dream weather and with captain Mads Bidstrup on the DJ decks. Along with the breathtaking view of the city that never sleeps, we just had to have a team photo with our flag.
We weren't finished there as the team all went up to The Edge, one of the most spectacular viewing platforms in the world. At a height of 335 metres, Alex Schlager and the rest of the boys got to see New York together from up high. For a lot of the squad, it was their first time in the Big Apple and the trip therefore caused great excitement.
It was all about gelling together and regaining strength by using some of the little spare time we have in the USA. It will soon be getting very serious again, after all, when we face opponents as strong as Al-Hilal in the FIFA Club World Cup late on Sunday.
Our World Cup game against Al-Hilal along with all other matches in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is being broadcast for free worldwide by streaming service DAZN! No subscription is required, you just need an account (which can also be registered with a subscription). With a DAZN subscription you can watch all World Cup games again in full length on demand.
