Bayer Leverkusen winger Florian Wirtz has been crowned the Bundesliga’s Player of the Month for October.

Wirtz helped Xabi Alonso’s side maintain their unbeaten run, propelling them to the summit of Germany’s top flight.

The 20-year-old was involved in three goals for Die Werkself as they racked up a hat-trick of wins against Köln, Wolfsburg and Freiburg.

Leverkusen travel to Werder Bremen when the Bundesliga resumes after the international break on 25 November.
