Alessandro Florenzi is still part of Paulo Fonseca’s Milan squad but there are no guarantees regarding his future at the club.
The 33-year-old Italian right back, who has entered the last year of his contract with the Rossoneri, recently scored the opening goal in a recent pre-season friendly with Rapid Vienna, which ended in a disappointing 1-1 draw.
Florenzi featured fairly often in Stefano Pioli’s final season at Milan, seeing over 2100 minutes of action across 40 matches, and was briefly linked with a move to Bologna last month. Since then, there has been little reported interest in the 33-year-old.
Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com underlines how Milan haven’t communicated anything to Florenzi regarding a departure this summer, taking a clear position on his future at the club.
The Rossoneri are open to selling the 33-year-old right back but are also willing to retain him should no convincing offers arrive in the coming weeks, appreciating his experience and professionalism.
