“This is a brand-new competition for us,” Perez said. “We have a new coach and new players, and now we’re entering a tournament that many of us have been fighting for over the years.

“It’s something truly exciting for Real Madrid and for football fans everywhere.”

The Real Madrid president did not hold back in expressing his gratitude to FIFA. “I want to thank FIFA for making this possible. It gives all the best clubs in the world a chance to compete in one tournament.

“It’s a beautiful competition, and I’m sure it will be a huge success. We’ve come here with great enthusiasm.”

Perez also took the opportunity to talk about the broader meaning of the Club World Cup. For him, it is about more than just trophies.

“We’ve been fighting to create this tournament for a long time,” he explained. “Football is the most global sport in the world.

And because it’s free to watch, kids from all over the planet can see teams like Real Madrid play. That matters.”

He went on to speak about the future of football. “The game is going to evolve with technology and the unity of the top clubs. I want to thank both DAZN and FIFA for supporting this vision.

“I’m one of those who has fought hardest to make this a reality. We’re here hoping it will be a success, and we’re going to work together to achieve it,” he concluded.
