As we head into the final and possibly decisive El Clasico of the season, Hansi Flick will look to maintain his perfect record against Real Madrid, a stat that not only bodes well for Barcelona’s title hopes but also puts the German coach in a category of his own.
Since taking charge at Barcelona, Flick has faced Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid three times, and he has emerged victorious on every single occasion.
This Sunday’s clash at the Santiago Bernabeu could very well determine the La Liga title, and Flick’s 100% win record against Los Blancos adds a layer of psychological edge in favour of the Catalans.
The numbers speak volumes. Flick’s Barcelona dismantled Real Madrid 4-0 in their league meeting, followed that up with a 5-2 win in the Spanish Super Cup final in Saudi Arabia, and capped it off with a 3-2 triumph in the Copa del Rey final.
Three games, three wins, and a staggering 12 goals scored against Ancelotti’s men, an unprecedented dominance in one of football’s fiercest rivalries.

In fact, of all the teams Flick has faced at least three times in his managerial career, Real Madrid are one of the few he has a 100% win rate against.
Others on that list include Wolfsburg, Benfica, Augsburg, Hertha Berlin, Schalke 04, Cologne, Valencia, and Sevilla.
Even Borussia Dortmund, once his favourite opponent with seven straight wins, managed to end their losing streak against him in the Champions League quarter-finals. But Real Madrid? Not yet.
What makes this even more remarkable is Ancelotti’s track record as one of the most successful and respected managers in the game. Yet, against Flick, he has suffered defeat every single time.
Of all the managers Ancelotti has faced three or more times, Flick is the only one with a perfect record over him.
This Sunday’s El Clasico could tip the La Liga balance significantly. A fourth consecutive win for Flick over Madrid would not only edge Barcelona closer to the title but also further cement his hold over Ancelotti in tactical battles.
