Renato Gaúcho is remaining modest despite Flamengo’s fantastic form since he was installed as manager last month.

The 58-year replaced the sacked Rogério Ceni on 10 July, and has won all six of the games he has been in the technical area for so far.

But the former Grêmio boss is not getting carried away by the 100% start.

“In a little while we’re going to stumble, it’s normal,” Gaúcho said after Sunday’s 3-1 away win in the league at Corinthians.

“Not even the best team in the world wins them all. But I am satisfied, because our daily lives have been full of work and joy. And that joy is being carried into the field.

“We have performed well and achieved the results that interest us. So far it’s been working out.”

Next up for the Rubro-Negro is the Copa do Brasil Round of 16 second-leg clash against ABC in Natal on Wednesday.
