Gabriel Barbosa’s goalscoring exploits have seen the Flamengo hitman named the Brasileirão Player of the Month for February.
The striker was instrumental in the Rubro-Negro’s late push that saw them claim their eighth league title.
Gabigol weighed in with five goals in six games in February as the Mengão pipped Internacional to the silverware by a single point.
That meant the 24-year-old finished top of the league’s points system.
While he may have been February’s star, Gabigol was unable to top the scoring charts over the course of the season.
The Flamengo man finished joint fifth on 14 goals, with Bragantino’s Claudinho and Luciano of Sâo Paulo leading the way with 18 each.
