Flamengo have reached their third Copa Libertadores final in the last four years. The Rubro-Negro are looking for their second title in that span, which would be their third title overall.

Despite the huge criticism due to results at the beginning of the season, Flamengo have turned it all around and now have a chance to do something extraordinarily magical.

In addition to their Libertadores conquests, they are also two goals ahead going into the Copa do Brasil semi-finals and just seven points behind in the league standings with 13 games to play.

On top of everything, Flamengo are undefeated in Copa Libertadores play. In Brazil, only Pelé’s Santos team in 1963 and Corinthians, in 2012, achieved such a feat.

Both were later crowned world champions. Of course, should Flamengo win, Brazilian morale and superstition will have them believing they can win the Club World Cup title.
