Marcos Braz has brushed off a report that Jorge Jesus has no interest in returning to manage Flamengo at the moment.
Club vice-president Braz departed for Portugal on Saturday, along with executive director Bruno Spindel, to try and find a successor to Renato Gaúcho.
Jesus, who enjoyed an incredibly successful year with the Rubro-Negro in 2019, is now in charge of Benfica.
According to the A Bola newspaper, the 67-year-old is ready to rebuff any advances from the Mengão directors.
When asked about Jesus’ apparent stance, Braz seemed unconcerned.
“There are no negotiations. If there is no negotiation, he cannot have said no. That’s what I say, there’s a lot of speculation,” he told reporter Isabelle Costa.
In addition to Jesus, Carlos Carvalhal, Paulo Souza and Paulo Fonseca are all rumoured to be on Flamengo’s mangerial shortlist.
