Flamengo vice-president Marcelo Braz admits they'd love to sign unsettled Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, Braz accepts such a deal is likely to be unrealistic.

Speaking at Arturo Vidal's presentation, Braz declared: "With all due respect to your question, we have to take this very seriously. At no time did we think about [signing] Cristiano Ronaldo.

"What is known is that, when I was in Europe, I was with Cristiano Ronaldo's mother, I met her in a restaurant, I was with my family, she was with her family. We talked for five minutes, we had a coffee, that's what happened. She treated me as cordially as possible. I was in Madeira Island, her home, her region.

"That's all that happened, that's all. I would love to, but it's unthinkable. We never thought about it."
