Flamengo named a 24-man squad for their opening 2020 Copa Libertadores game against Colombian side Junior on Wednesday.

Bruno Henrique, Rafinha and Rodrigo Caio were not included in the group and did not travel with the side as they jetted out from Rio de Janeiro on Sunday afternoon.

All three players are recovering from injury and will remain at the club’s training facility to receive treatment.

Another notable absentee is defensive midfielder Willian Arão, who is suspended after his sending off against Ecuador’s Independiente del Valle in the Recopa Sudamericana last Wednesday.

The Rubro-Negro travelled on the back of a comprehensive 4-1 win over Cabofriense in the Taça Rio on Saturday.

Michael gave the hosts the lead in the 14th minute at the Maracaña before Gama equalised for Cabofriense just over 10 minutes later.

It then became the Gabriel Barbosa show, as the striker netted a hat-trick to steer the Fla to victory.

The defending Copa Libertadores will face Junior at the Estádio Metropolitano in Barranquilla at 7.30pm local time on Wednesday.
