Flamengo and the City Football Group are finalising the transfer of 21-year-old Vinícius Souza, more commonly known as Vinição.
According to journalist Venê Casagrande, CFG will pay Flamengo R$20m (€3.1m) for the player’s services.
Vinição was under contract at Flamengo until December 2021 but will now be sent to Belgian second-division side Lommel S.K., one of CFG’s nine clubs.
Vinição made eight first-team appearances for Flamengo and will join former Flamengo left-back Caio Roque, who signed for CFG last week and will also join Lommel S.K.
Striker Lincoln is also linked with a loan move to the City Football Group, who would place him with Ligue 2 outfit Troyes should CFG be able to complete their purchase of the club in the current transfer window.
Ligue 1 side Nantes and Belgian top-flight side Mouscron are also interested in Lincoln.
City Football Group, who purchased Lommel S.K. in May, also own Manchester City, Australia’s Melbourne City, MLS outfit New York City FC, recently-promoted Uruguayan side Montevideo City, Mumbai City FC, LaLiga 2 side Girona, Chinese third-tier outfit Sichuan Jiuniu, and Japanese champions Yokohama F. Marinos.
