Flamengo set to confirm Abel Braga as new coach

Flamengo are reportedly on the verge of completing a deal that would see former coach Abel Braga return to the club.

The Rio side finished second in the Serie A last term but parted company with Dorival Júnior at the end of November.

The search for a new head coach has taken them across the continent, but according to Globo Esporte, they will hire Abel within the next few days.

The 66-year-old was most recently in charge of Fluminense after spell at Internacional and in the Middle East.

The ex-Paris Saint-Germain centre-back previously took charge of Flamengo back in 2004 where he led them to the Carioca title.
