Two-time Brazilian champion, Flamengo lifted their eighth trophy last Thursday after earning 74 points and securing the title in the last round of the tournament, largely thanks to a 0-0 draw between Internacional and Corinthians.
In 2019, when Flamengo won nearly everything, Mais Querido broke all kinds of records and won the title with an incredible 90 points.
Flamengo’s numbers, however, are not only impressive in their years of success, but also over the course of the entire decade as well.
Only behind Grêmio, who amassed a total of 618 points between 2011 and 2020, Flamengo won 617 and lifted two trophies.
The Tricolor Gaúcho, in turn, despite being consistently good in the Brasileirão, did not win a single league title. It’s worth remembering that they won the 2017 Copa Libertadores championship.
Just behind Flamengo, Corinthians finished third with 606 points for the decade, followed by São Paulo and Atlético-MG rounding out the top-five with 601 and 596 points, respectively.
