On Wednesday, midfielder Yuri César signed a new contract with Flamengo.
The player, who is on loan to Fortaleza until the end of the Brazilian Championship, went to Ninho do Urubu this afternoon to sign his new deal, which will run until December 2025.
His new release clause, as expected, will be €70m (about R$440m at the current price). Yuri César will also receive a big bump in his salary since his last extension came while he was a member of the U-20s.
The midfielder will not face Flamengo in Saturday’s game, in Fortaleza, as he is under contract. Instead, he will spend Christmas with his family in Rio de Janeiro and join Flamengo in 2021.
Yuri, of course, has plenty of experience with Rogério Ceni as the two were together in Fortaleza. The manager is a big fan of the player and tried to get Fortaleza to sign him to a permanent deal.
Flamengo even rejected proposals from foreign clubs for the midfielder throughout the year.
