Due to the coronavirus pandemic, CONMEBOL have allowed clubs participating in the Copa Libertadores to increase their squad list from 30 players to 40.
With the increase, Flamengo have added Mauricio Isla and nine other players from the youth squads onto the list.
Of course, Mauricio Isla replaces Rafinha, who has since left to join Greek outfit Olympiacos. In all, clubs were allowed to exchange up to five players from their original 30-man list.
The youngsters that are now registered for South America’s premiere competition are: goalkeeper João Fernando, defenders Natan and Gabriel Noga, right-back Matheuzinho, left-back Ramon, midfielder João Gomes, midfielder Lázaro, and strikers Rodrigo Muniz and Guilherme.
On 17 September, Flamengo will face Independiente del Valle in Quito, Ecuador. Then, on the 22nd, they take on Barcelona (ECU) in Guayaquil.
