After sealing a loan deal with Braga defender Bruno Viana, Flamengo signed another player for the 2021 season.
Highly-touted 17-year-old right-back Samuel has arrived on loan from América Mineiro until 2022.
Flamengo aims to reap rewards both in sport and financially, and Samuel is seen as a huge addition to the Flamengo youth squads.
In recent years, Flamengo have unearthed jewels from their academy in Lucas Paquetá, Vinícius Júnior and Reinier, all of whom are playing in Europe’s top-five leagues after making great money for the Rio giants.
The full-back arrives at Flamengo at the best possible moment, as the U-20 starter, Matheuzinho, will exceed the age limit for playing in the division.
Therefore, the tendency is that Samuel will have plenty of chances to start and evolve his football while showcasing his talent.
Samuel’s contract with Flamengo has a purchase clause at the end of the loan, which, if executed, will see Flamengo own 50% of the player’s rights.
