Matias has not yet made his next adventure official but Red Bull Bragantino’s proposal surprised the manager, who decided to leave the club.

His departure to São Paulo should be announced shortly.

The 42-year-old Matias joined Flamengo last summer after leading the Internacional U-20 side. In February 2021, Matias was the interim boss of the Internacional first-team after the sacking of Abel Braga.

Matias was also in charge of Flamengo at the beginning of this season’s Campeonato Carioca while the regular first-team side finished their vacation following the 2021 Copa Libertadores final run.
