Despite not having signed any new reinforcements for 2022, Flamengo have been keeping a keen eye on the transfer market this month.
While Flamengo are getting ready to sell Michael to Al-Hilal, they are already preparing to sign his replacement.
According to multiple sources in Brazil and Portugal, Flamengo are very interested in signing Everton ‘Cebolinha’ Soares from Jorge Jesus’ Benfica side.
Benfica are looking to recoup much of the €20m fee they paid Grêmio for the winger in summer 2020.
Everton, who starred at the 2019 Copa América with Brazil, has not been living up to expectations and has received interest from Palmeiras and Atlético-MG as well.
Flamengo could have the upper hand in potential negotiations as they have dealt with Everton’s agent, Giuliano Bertolucci, in recent moves for both Andreas Pereira and David Luiz
