There’s no doubt that Flamengo have the best attack in Brazil – having scored an incredible 130 goals through 67 games this year, an average of almost two goals per game.
The additions of Gabigol, Giorgian De Arrascaeta, and Bruno Henrique have all proven to be hits this year. During their 3-1 win over Bahia over the weekend, a pair of assists from Gabigol took Flamengo’s total number of assists to an incredible 100 on the season.
This is the first year that Flamengo have ever broken the 100 assist mark and the third year in the last five that they have broken the 100-goal plateau.
Though Gabigol (37 goals) will undoubtedly be Brazil’s goal king of 2019, the dispute over who will be Brazil’s assist champion is wide open.
Currently, Palmeiras’ Dudu leads with 16 assists, however, Flamengo trio Everton Ribeiro (15), Bruno Henrique (15), and Arrascaeta (13) are all very much in the race.
