Flamengo’s hopes of signing David Luiz could be scuppered by interest from Salernitana.
The Serie A outfit are close to adding veteran French winger Franck Ribéry to their ranks, and are keen on having 34-year-old Luiz join as well.

According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, a meeting has been scheduled between Salernitana and the former Brazil international’s agents in the coming days.
Beşiktaş had reportedly made an attempt to acquire Luiz’s services, but the player rejected the opportunity to play in Turkey.
Flamengo have been heavily linked with the central defender, but have yet to make a formal offer to him.
Luiz has been a free agent since his contract at Arsenal expired in June.
