Flamengo’s Chilean defender Mauricio Isla has been fined 10% of his salary for indiscipline after posting pictures of himself in a nightclub at the weekend.

According to the Rubo-Negro, Isla presented himself to the Medical Department with ‘cold-like symptoms’ and was told he couldn’t feature in last Sunday’s draw with Resende.

“He was removed from the group, reevaluated, medicated and directed to light exercises,” read the club statement.

“The Club also carried out a test for Covid-19, which came back with a negative result.”

The 33-year-old reportedly accepts that he shouldn’t have posted pictures of himself on social media but is considering appealing as he didn’t think he was prohibited from attending the event.

As well as the fine Isla will not be permitted to take part in Sunday’s match against Vasco da Gama.
