With Flamengo guaranteed second place and Renato GaĂșcho out of the picture, Flamengo are now free to play pressure-free football for their final three-game stretch.

They began on Friday night with a 1-1 draw against Sport Recife, who have already had their relegation confirmed.

Scorers: Gustavo 51â€Č; Michael 40â€Č

The player of the game was Flamengo goalkeeper Hugo Souza, who made two great saves as he continues to lead the Rubro-Negro between the sticks for the final stretch.

Following mistakes on and off the pitch, Hugo was relegated to the third-string goalkeeper behind Gabriel Batista but has enjoyed making the most of his opportunities.

Flamengo took the lead just before half-time as Michael redeemed himself for two earlier missed chances and scored his 18th goal of the season.

At the beginning of the second half, however, Gustavo took advantage of defensive error, raced down the wing, and smashed the ball past Hugo.

Sport will return to the pitch on Monday to face Chapecoense while Flamengo receives Santos on the same day at the MaracanĂŁ.
