Domènec Torrent only led Flamengo for a total of 26 games but his release from the rubro-negro will certainly be a costly one.
According to SPORT, Flamengo and Pep Guardiola’s former assistant have agreed to a total buyout of €1.8m (R$11m).
Flamengo will now pay the part related to image rights, while the labour part will not be settled until the end of his contract, which was valid until January 2022.
The agreement comes after negotiations dragged on since 9 November, when Torrent was sacked after posting a record of 15 wins, five draws, and six losses – considerably worse than his predecessor Jorge Jesus (36 wins, eight draws, four losses).
Though the termination agreement has not been officially signed by both parties, each side has agreed to a final version of the contract.
