Reports suggest that Flamengo have reached a total agreement with Roma for Matias Vina, who’ll end his loan at Sassuolo to make the move to Brazil.

The 26-year-old Uruguayan full back fell out of favour with Jose Mourinho in the Italian capital and spent six months on loan with Bournemouth last season before heading off to Sassuolo in the summer.

Roma are in a difficult position now, having sacked Mourinho earlier this week. They’ve brought in Daniele De Rossi as a short-term replacement and are not expected to invest much in the winter transfer window due to Financial Fair Play restrictions.

As reported by Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo, Flamengo have now agreed to sign Vina from Roma in a definitive deal worth €8m plus €1m in add-ons. His loan at Sassuolo is now in the process of being suspended to allow him to make the move to the Brazilian side.

Vina provided three assists in 15 Serie A appearances for the Neroverdi this term, looking positive before he was sidelined with a knee injury.
