RKC Waalwijk took Heracles apart in Almelo on Sunday afternoon to grab their first win since the 9th of March. The side had not won in six games before putting five past their opponents to maintain pressure on Excelsior in the race to avoid finishing third from bottom.
Waalwijk were grateful for the performance of 24-year-old striker David Min. The forward opened the scoring after seven minutes, grabbing another two in the second-half to secure the match ball. Min has now hit double figures for the season with 10 goals in 27 games. He has been in fine form in recent weeks, with three goals in two matches and an assist. Min’s return to form has come at a crucial time for Waalwijk as they look to avoid finishing in 15th place. With two games to go, they are just four points behind their opponents Heracles.
Jurien Gaari and Shawn Adewoye also helped themselves to goals to make it 5-0 to Waalwijk. This was comfortably their biggest win of the season and their biggest ever away win in the Eredivisie. For Heracles, this game once again exposed a leaky defence which has now shipped 70 goals in 32 games.
