There seems to be something in the air across Europe tonight.
Over the course of two games in Germany and Spain, there were five red cards as the weekend begun in chaos mode.
Firstly, Hamburg suffered a 2-1 to Darmstadt in the early-evening 2.Bundesliga kick-off with with Aaron Opoku seeing red for a rather interesting approach to kicking before youngster Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer received his marching orders late on for flicking his opponent across the face.
This was all after Klaus Gjasula had been sent from the pitch for Darmstadt.
Then to quite the first half in LaLiga between Espanyol and Rayo Vallecano.
Espanyol defender Florian Lejeune somehow conspired to pick up two yellow cards inside the first 16 minutes but he would’ve felt better when 14 minutes Sergi Gómez suffered a similar fate for violent conduct.
Feathers have been ruffled tonight.
