Liverpool may have won the Champions League and picked up 97 points in the Premier League last season but there’s no such thing as perfection.

So, who could help them win a seventh European title and the Premier League title?

Nicolas Pépé

A player who could play across the frontline, finally allowing Jürgen Klopp to rotate his front three?

Sounds nice, doesn’t it?

Pépé excelled for Lille last season and could come into the side to keep Mané, Firmino, or Salah fresh when they need a break without lowering the quality of the team.

Memphis Depay

If a deal for Pépé is unlikely – the Ivorian is being chased by a number of top European clubs – Memphis would be a superb alternative.

The former Manchester United man has gone up a level since joining Lyon and it’s no flash in the pan; he’s also been in fine form with the Dutch national team.

A left winger when he emerged at PSV, Memphis now often leads the line. Has has the versatility and the dynamism to shine in Klopp’s team.

Matthijs de Ligt

This goes without saying, right? He’s on everyone’s list.

Liverpool already have Virgil van Dijk and adding his international team-mate would be another big step towards the title.

Mature beyond his years, it looks like de Ligt will be one of the world’s best defenders for a very long time to come.

Gianluigi Buffon

He’s available for free, so why not?

Liverpool are on the hunt for a second choice goalkeeper and Buffon, now 41, is still on the hunt for a Champions League winners’ medal.

It just makes sense.

Adrien Rabiot

There are doubts surrounding Rabiot’s maturity and they aren’t without reason.

When he plays, though, he’s absolutely brilliant. The rangy midfielder could play as the deepest in Klopp’s midfield three, he could also play further forward.

This is a deal that could perfectly round off Liverpool’s midfield and Rabiot’s out of contract at PSG.
