Football’s kit-supplying giants have been dropping a whole host of new international shirts this month, ahead of a huge summer that will see the European Championship and Copa America take centre stage.

While there’s certainly been some instant classic released this month, the mammoth drop has its fair share of underwhelming offerings too.

Here are five of the worst international kits released this month.

Chile – Away

Given some of the superb designs that will be on show at the Copa America this summer, Chile can feel a little disappointed with Adidas’ offerings for the two-time champions.

While there’s nothing overly offensive from either shirt, there’s nothing particularly memorable either. The national colours are included but, let’s be honest, that away strip is a training top, isn’t it?

Brazil – Home

Brazil’s shirts are always eagerly anticipated, with the nation’s famous yellow shirt perhaps the iconic look in the international game.

Nike have gone a little garish with the latest design, including Brazilian elements in fern trees and jaguars on a paler yellow backdrop. The centralised and slightly exaggerated crest is a polarising look, which just doesn’t quite feel like Brazil to us.

While the likes of Mexico, Nigeria and South Korea have had hits with bold designs in recent years, the beauty of Brazil is in the simplicity of the famous colours. That’s been a little lost here.

Fortunately, Nike are re-releasing this all-time classic!

Netherlands – Away

The Netherlands are another nation whose shirts have become collector’s favourites, though their shirts for Euro 2024 do not feel like must-haves.

The home shirt offers a more vibrant orange than the previous edition in a huge plus, but the away change is a bit of a car crash. Or should that be bus crash?

A mishmash design on a navy template is certainly giving bus seat vibes.

Nigeria – Home

Yes, we know, this is a shock. But we just can’t get on board with Nigeria’s new home shirt.

The Super Eagles have had some of the funkiest and freshest football kits in the international game across the last decade, which makes this feel all the more disappointing.

We’re not fans of the change to an all-white kit from the more traditional green, with Naija emblazoned on an Eagle design.

And just what is that square neck line? It’s as if SpongeBob SquarePants was the design model.

France – Away

A giant cock-up cockerel this one.

France have revisited the eighties with their design for Euro 2024, with the away strip sore on the eyes. There’s pinstripe on pinstripe for the French, changing from red to blue on the white shirt and (for some unknown reason) continuing down onto the shorts.

Did we mention the cockerel is gigantic?

It’s a little bit merde.
