Five of the best international shirts released this month:

England  – Away

England’s recent shirts have divided opinion with the blue sleeves of the former home shirt having been unpopular.

Nike have redeemed themselves with two instant classics for the Three Lions, ahead of another tournament where expectations are (cautiously) high.

The home strip offers a simplistic design, with tasteful traditional trims, and the away kit is a new look as England opt for a navy/indigo blend. The latter is sure to be a popular pick-up for shirt collectors in the coming months, given its sleek design and abstract side panels.

Argentina – Home

The world champion’s latest offering is pure class, encompassing the iconic blue and white of La Albiceleste with the gold detailing often only reserved for trophy-winning teams.

After Copa America, Finalissima and World Cup trophies in recent years, the South Americans will be aiming to defend the former title this summer.

Set to be hosted in the United States, it could be the final farewell for the now MLS-based Lionel Messi, as Argentina look to win a record-breaking 16th Copa America title.

Norway – Home

Erling Haaland and co won’t be strutting their stuff at the European Championship this summer, which is a real shame given the threads Nike have delivered for the Norwegians.

Both are beautys for the Scandinavian side, with the home shirt in particular an eye-catching modern twist on the Norwegian flag colours.

Haaland and Martin Odegaard will be missed at this summer’s tournament – and so will this shirt.

Nigeria – Away

It’s become something of Nigerian sporting heritage to drop banging kits and Nike have delivered again for the Super Eagles.

AFCON disappointment might be fresh in the memory, but Nigeria at least have a new fresh look to plot their route to success.

After moving to a predominantly all-white home shirt, the nation’s trademark green is emblazoned on an away shirt with a funky water drop and leaf design that offers tribute to Nigeria’s lowland forests.

Portugal – Home

Sometime simplicity trumps all when it comes to kit design, and Portugal’s new home shirt is definitely a nod to less is more.

While Nike have followed a familiar template when designing the latest kit for Roberto Martinez’s side, the bolder backdrop colour is a huge plus from the more mundane maroon of recent editions.

There’s a Euro 2004 feel to this kit – and we’re here for it.

That summer saw Portugal reach the European Championship final in a tournament that saw Cristiano Ronaldo make his name for the national team. Fitting perhaps, that this could be the last Portugal shirt the national icon wears.
