Five Milan players advance to the knockout stages of the World Cup

Article image:Five Milan players advance to the knockout stages of the World Cup

Five AC Milan players have made it through to the knockout phase of the World Cup with their respective national teams. A pretty good result for the Rossoneri, given that a total of seven players were called up.

The Rossoneri men that have made it through to the next round are the following: Sergino Dest (USA), Fode Ballo-Toure (Senegal), Theo Hernandez (France), Rafael Leao (Portugal) and Olivier Giroud (France).

It’s a bit surprising that Simon Kjaer (Denmark) and Charles De Ketelaere (Belgium) aren’t present on that list. Both teams did poorly in the group stage and frankly deserved to be knocked out of the tournament.

Kjaer and De Ketelaere will now have some vacation ahead of returning to training with Milan. Training resumed at Milanello today and the two players mentioned might take part in the Dubai training camp, but we await official confirmation on that.
