MIAMI – Guatemala and Suriname will defend their first place leads as the Second Round of the Concacaf Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2026 continues on Friday with important matches in Groups E and F.
The Road to the 2026 continues for Concacaf nations with the final encounters of the Second Round during the June 2025 match window. The group winners and runners-up will progress to the Third and Final Round.
Guatemala vs. Dominican Republic
Guatemala hosts the Dominican Republic in Group E at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Los Chapines enter as the first-place team on six points and will seek to strengthen its lead. Guatemala has yet to conceded, earning a 6-nil win against Dominica and a 3-nil win at the British Virgin Islands. Alejandro Galindo and Rubio Rubin lead the nation with two goals.
The Dominican Republic enters in third place with three points, seeking to jump into the top two. Los Quisqueyanos bounced back from a 1-nil loss at Jamaica with a 4-nil win against the British Virgin Islands, thanks to braces from Rafael Núñez and Dorny Romero.
Suriname vs. Puerto Rico
Suriname hosts Puerto Rico in Group F at Dr. Ir. Franklin Essed Stadion in Paramaribo, Suriname.
This matchup pits the top two teams in the group, Suriname on six points and Puerto Rico on four, with both nations looking to solidify their place at the top.
Suriname opened its campaign last year with a 4-1 win against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and a 4-nil win at Anguilla. Tyrone Conraad leads the scoring with two goals.
