Bayern professional Leroy Sané is unable to take part in the German national team’s current international trip due to suspension. The 28-year-old is nevertheless travelling with the DFB squad.

After the 2-0 win against France, Julian Nagelsmann and his team will face the Netherlands tomorrow, Tuesday, in Frankfurt. As reported by kicker and Sky, Leroy Sané will be travelling to the German national team despite his ongoing suspension. According to the reports, Sané wants to spend the day with his DFB colleagues on Tuesday and support the national team at Deutsche Bank Park in the evening.

Sané has been training individually at Säbener Straße over the past few days. The winger has been plagued by patellar tendon and groin problems for some time now. According to his own statements, Sané wants to use the DFB break to get his body in shape for the upcoming end-of-season spurt with Bayern and the European Football Championship with Germany in the summer.

Sané and Nagelsmann are in regular contact

Even though Julian Nagelsmann initiated a „fresh start“ with his squad in March, Sané plays a key role in the national coach’s plans. Sané and Nagelsmann are in regular contact, as the latter recently revealed. The FCB star is also firmly planned for the European Championship squad, as reported by Sky.

The mere fact that Sané is travelling to the national team despite being banned is a clear indication that Sané is an integral part of the DFB squad.

However, it is also clear that Sané will have to work on his form at FC Bayern in the coming weeks. Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz showed impressively in the 2:0 win against France that they are capable of orchestrating the German offence. DFB captain Ilkay Gündogan is also set to play in the eighth and tenth positions under Nagelsmann.
