Moise Kean has been discharged during the night after being hospitalized in Verona after seemingly fainting on the pitch during Sunday’s game against the Scaligeri. Fiorentina announced that all the tests returned negative.
The striker got inadvertently kneed in the head while fighting for a loose ball. He briefly returned after the doctors stitched up his eyebrow, sporting a visible black eye, but fell down a few minutes later, possibly due to the effect of the blood loss.
Kean was immobilized and stretchered off out of precaution due to a potential head injury and quickly brought to a local clinic to run the exams. He’ll have only a handful of days to be ready for Friday’s game versus Lecce.
Fiorentina, which are slumping, continue to be hit by injuries. Albert Gudmundsson is nursing a coccyx fracture that will sideline him for a few more weeks. Yacine Adli and Andrea Colpani are currently on the mend due to ankle problems.
La Viola has lost three games in a row against Inter, Como, and Hellas Verona. They were once neck-and-neck with Juventus and Lazio in the race for fourth place. They are seven points behind the Bianconeri now. Milan and Bologna will have a shot at overtaking them in Thursday’s make-up game.
The forward is putting together a career season, as he’s up to 19 goals and 2 assists in 30 games.
Luckily it doesn’t look anything too severe. Not signing a deputy striker and letting go of their only one has quickly turned out to be detrimental. Their presence in the box is severely lacking sans him.
