Claudio Ranieri was presented with a special gift on behalf of Fiorentina ahead of kick off between La Viola and Cagliari in Serie A on Thursday evening, in what is expected to be the coach’s final match at club level.
The former Premeir League winner announced earlier this week that he will leave his position as Cagliari coach by mutual consent at the end of the 2023-24 season. He is also expected to take a step back from football, and it is not expected that he will return to coaching domestically.
The coach was in charge of Fiorentina for four full seasons in the first portion of his managerial career, spanning between 1993 and 1997.
In recognition of his efforts, not only with Fiorentina, but across a 30+ year career, Ranieri was presented with a special Fiorentina shirt with his name and no.1 printed across the back.
