Fiorentina might yet have hope of selling Sofyan Amrabat to Manchester United after his performance in the FA Cup Final. ‘It is certainly an option.’

The Morocco international made the move to Old Trafford last summer on loan for €9m with an option to make it permanent at the end of the season for a further €20m plus €5m in add-ons.

Considering his contract with Fiorentina only runs to June 2025, all involved hoped that the option would be activated.

That seemed to be in huge doubt after a season of difficult performances, largely because he was played completely out of position by Erik ten Hag.

The situation may well have changed following yesterday’s 2-1 FA Cup Final victory over Manchester City, which prompted Paul Scholes to say on Instagram that Amrabat performed like “prime Gattuso” in the middle of the park.

Amrabat: ‘Man Utd an option’

The player himself is also increasingly confident that he could stay in England.

“Staying at Manchester United is certainly an option,” Amrabat told Dutch site Ziggo Sport.

“We are going to talk. Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, so who wouldn’t want to play football here?”

If he was to return to Fiorentina, then Milan and Juventus would be interested in taking him on.
