According to Defensa Central, it has come to light that Fiorentina have submitted an offer to sign Real Madrid defender David Alaba.
The outlet assures that the Italian side are preparing for the possible departure of young centre-back Pietro Comuzzo, who is attracting serious interest from the Saudi Pro League.
With this development, Fiorentina began searching for an experienced replacement, and Alaba emerged as their top choice.
The Serie A club took advantage of the fact that Alaba has just one year left on his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.
A formal bid was sent to Real Madrid, and the proposal was reportedly well-received by the club’s directors.

Keeping him for another season would risk losing him for free in 2026, so Fiorentina’s approach was seen as a reasonable solution.
Despite Real Madrid’s openness to the deal, Alaba himself blocked the move. Fiorentina had offered him a two-year contract, but doubts about his physical condition and the uncertainty of moving away from Madrid led Alaba to reject the offer.
The Austrian international is fully aware of his situation at the club. With only a year left on his contract and no renewal planned, his future is far from certain.
Even so, Alaba prefers to complete the season with Real Madrid. His ability to also feature in midfield could provide him with valuable playing time under Xabi Alonso, giving him one final year to contribute before deciding on his next chapter.
This might have left Real Madrid disappointed, but the fact that Alaba could be utilised as a midfielder would be a boost in a season where Alonso is likely to lose Dani Ceballos.
