Fiorentina captain Cristiano Biraghi lamented his side’s inability to take advantage of their two-man advantage after they drew 1-1 against Roma.
The Giallorossi were shorthanded throughout the second after Nicola Zalewski (64′) and Romelu Lukaku (87′) were both sent off against Vincenzo Italiano’s side. However, the visitors failed to score and were forced to settle for a point.
“Matches like these, even when you get a result, never leave you fully satisfied,” Biraghi told DAZN.
“We could’ve exploited certain situations better, it’s not all bad but it’s not all good either. There’s some bitterness considering we don’t know when we’ll ever play 11 versus 9 against Roma ever again.”
He added, “We’ve grown in several respects but we still have a lot to do. Our way of playing is very aggressive and carefree, those of us on the pitch need to do better to understand certain moments in the game, I think we lack a bit of feistiness.”
