Eager to return to Italy, former Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo remains at the center of a transfer battle between Fiorentina and Atalanta.

The two clubs are both pushing to acquire the 24 year-old from Galatasaray, whom he joined in January 2023, following an acrimonious split with the capital club. After a quick start in Istanbul, he joined Aston Villa on loan last summer, ultimately failing to convince the English side to make the deal permanent.
