Eintracht Frankfurt will be without Filip Kostić for the UEFA Super Cup final on Wednesday night after it was revealed the winger is in talks over a move to a new club.

The Europa League winners confirmed on Tuesday that the Serbian won’t travel to Helsinki with the rest of the squad as he closes in a move away from Frankfurt.

The 29-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Serie A side Juventus in recent weeks.

Eintracht sporting director Markus Krösche told the club’s website: “Filip behaved in an exemplary manner last season and played a large part in winning the UEFA Europa League.

“We’ve always said that we wouldn’t put any obstacles in his way if we made an offer that was good for all parties and that we were willing to talk.

“We are currently in promising talks with another club and a solution is emerging.”

Kostić has scored 33 goals and provided 64 assists in his 171 appearances for Frankfurt.
