The overall agreement, which FIFA sources say is worth in the region of $1 billion, will see all 63 matches available on DAZN's platform to watch for free.

Initially, FIFA had struggled to sell the broadcasting rights to the newly expanded competition, with talks reportedly breaking down with Apple at one point.

Additionally, with this official deal, DAZN may be able to sub-license to local free-to-air broadcasters.

In an official statement, FIFA president Gianni Infantino said the deal made the Club World Cup “the most widely accessible club football tournament ever."

“I am delighted to announce that FIFA, in partnership with DAZN and FIFA+, will bring the best of club football for free to everywhere in the world, meaning that every single football fan across the globe can watch the best players from the 32 best clubs compete in the new FIFA Club World Cup to be the first official ‘FIFA Club World Champions," he said.

“The new FIFA Club World Cup is a merit-based, inclusive tournament that will be the pinnacle of global club football, capturing the imagination of players and fans across the world."

The tournament will run from June 15th to July 13, and will feature 32 teams, including Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Inter Miami.

While there has been legal action from FIFPRO amid concerns over player welfare and workload, the tournament will go on as thing stand, with the draw taking place in Miami on Thursday at 1pm EST (6pm GMT).
