On their Facebook account, FIFA chose the best goal in World Cup history and the winner was the shocking volley of Manuel Negrete’s scissor volley against Bulgaria.
The World Cup in Mexico 1986 saw what for many was the best goal in football history, converted by Diego Maradona against England, eluding five opponents in the quarterfinals. However, for the fans, it was another converted into the same FIFA World Cup.
FIFA’s Facebook account conducted a survey to find the best goal in World Cup history, preselecting 32 different goals, leaving it to the vote of the fans in a bracket-style format.
In the final, the one chosen was Manuel Negrete in the duel between Mexico and Bulgaria, defeating Eder’s for Brazil against the USSR in Spain 1982.
