FIFA 23: Man Utd predicted ratings

FIFA 23 is just around the corner, which means ratings will be released later in the year. Here we have our predictions for Manchester United’s player ratings.

Manchester United’s 2021-22 campaign didn’t go according to plan for the Red Devils. After the arrival of Jadon Sancho, Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane – United fans across the globe anticipated a season to remember at Old Trafford but ultimately ended up wanting to forget what was a despicable campaign that ended trophyless.

With this – we expect a lot of the ratings of Manchester United players to take somewhat of a hit. They had some extremely high rated players in FIFA 22, so how will they look in EA’s new title?

With this – let’s take a look at our predicted ratings for Manchester United in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.

David De Gea – 86 (+2)

To begin with, hocking we’re going for an upgrade, but if anyone deserves one – it’s David De Gea.

De Gea has been one of the only shining lights for United this season. He’s single-handedly kept them in certain games this season and even managed to pick up a Premier League POTM award in January for his heroics.

Ralf Rangnick’s side were abysmal this year, but De Gea was not the reason and we think he deserves an 86 rating in FIFA 23, a +2 from his card now.

Dean Henderson – 79 (-1)

Dean Henderson was once called in by fans to be United’s number one, but thanks to David De Gea’s insane performances he’s been kept firmly out of the side.

Due to this, a downgrade is on the cards. We think a -1 to a 79 is more than fair for the English shot-stopper.

Tom Heaton – 74 (-2)

A player that many won’t even know resides in Manchester. Tom Heaton is by no means a bad goalkeeper but is essentially at United just a backup to a backup for the Red Devils.

We think EA will give him a -2, which will make him a very desirable silver Premier League goalkeeper.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 81 (-2)

Aaron Wan-Bissaka was once looking like he’d cement the full-back slot for years to come when he signed from Crystal Palace in 2019 – however, since then he’s had a very rapid decline and now many think he isn’t even fit to wear the United jersey.

He has been exiled from the squad this season, specifically under the Ralf Rangnick reign and will no doubt receive a downgrade.

He’s 83-rated in FIFA 22, so a fair reflection on his season will probably see him drop down to 81.

Diogo Dalot – 78 (+2)

Our second upgrade in our predictions, not necessarily because Diogo Dalot has had a tremendous season – but because his FIFA 22 rating is strangely low.

The 78 rated mark is the correct area that the Portuguese right-back should be floating around, 76 was too low to begin with so we think Dalot will end up with a probably undeserved +2 for next year’s title.

Harry Maguire – 82 (-2)

A man that gets a hell of a lot of stick, sometimes unwarranted, but Harry Maguire has not had the best of seasons at Manchester United.

The current club captain came off the back of an unbelievable EURO 2021 campaign and earned himself an 84 rating in FIFA 22 – which he hasn’t justified.

He’ll more than likely be downgraded, our say is the 80 million pound man will be 82 rated.

Victor Lindelof – 81 (80)

The Swede has been at United since 2017 when he was brought in by Jose Mourinho – but he’s never really lived up to his price tag since joining from Benfica.

However saying this, he’s always been a competent centre-half for United and his 80 rating in FIFA 22 seemed just ever so slightly too low. We think he’ll get a small upgrade which will push him up to an 81.

Raphael Varane – 85 (-1)

An absolute Rolls Royce of a centre-half that’s been plagued with injury this year. United fans were beyond ecstatic when he was announced in the summer, but they only got a small percentage of the Frenchman’s services this season thanks to constant injury struggles.

It seems harsh to downgrade such an accomplished defender, but with this taken into account, we think he’ll drop down to an 85.

Phil Jones – 74 (+0)

From a Rolls Royce to an unserviced lorry, many can’t believe Phil Jones is still at Old Trafford.

The English centre-back has been a great servant for United, but he just isn’t up to the standard they should be aspiring to. He was a silver card this year and will remain like that in FIFA 23.

Eric Bailly – 78 (-1)

Another of Jose Mourinho’s centre-half signings, Eric Bailly is a huge character for Manchester United – but not the greatest of defenders.

To be fair to the Ivorian, he’s also been massively injury-prone during his time at Old Trafford and when he does play he has put in some half-decent performances. Ultimately though he’ll be downgraded again, 78 rated is fair.

Luke Shaw – 82 (-2)

Like Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw came off the back of a phenomenal EURO 2021, which meant he also received a rating of 84 – which was questioned by many as too low. However, if this season has proved anything it may have been too high.

Shaw was sublime for the Red Devils in the 2020-21 campaign, but just like many in the United squad last season he underperformed massively so he’ll drop down to around an 82 we believe.

Alex Telles – 80 (-2)

The former Porto man was electric in the Liga Portuguesa and when United swooped in for him in October 2020 for a measly £15 million, it looked like they were getting a proper bargain – but sadly he hasn’t lived up to his name.

He’s been a huge part in United’s defensive woes this year and will be downgraded. Another -2 for a left-back, we think he’ll also be 82 rated like Luke Shaw.

Scott McTominay – 80 (+0)

Onto the midfielders now, where we have Scott McTominay.

He was 80 rated in FIFA 22 and will probably remain the same. He has been in no way exceptional this year, but his performances also don’t warrant a decrease in rating.

Fred – 82 (+1)

Another player that receives a lot of stick, but to be honest doesn’t deserve it. Fred is another man cursed with the duty of repaying his hefty price tag, so he gets judged more so than others.

Realistically, he is one of United’s better players and with the correct players around him could shine. He deserves a slight boost to an 82.

Nemanja Matic – 79 (+0)

Nemanja Matic will no doubt be leaving in the summer, but wherever he ends up we believe his rating will stay the same.

There’s no dispute the Serbian isn’t the player he was, but he still has the fantastic technical ability so will most likely not go up or down.

Paul Pogba – 86 (-1)

A player that looks destined to leave Old Trafford on a free this summer… again.

Paul Pogba is a world-class player but for some reason, it just doesn’t seem to work for him at United. He’s endured another mediocre season and will likely drop down to an 86.

Donny Van de Beek – 81 (+0)

Van de Beek has not enjoyed his career in red so far, which led to a loan move to the blue of Everton in January 2022. He was injured for the majority of that but when he did play – he impressed.

De Beek has a great relationship with new manager Erik ten Hag after their spell together at Ajax, so expect Donny to come back better than ever next season. We think he’ll remain as an 81.

Bruno Fernandes – 88 (+0)

Many may suggest for Bruno Fernandes to receive a downgrade in FIFA 23, but considering the fact he still has 24 goal contributions this season and obtained a FIFA 22 TOTS card – we think maintaining his rating is more than justified.

Granted – Fernandes hasn’t achieved some of the numbers he secured in seasons previously, but he’s still had a very good year personally. 88 is fair.

Jesse Lingard – 78 (-1)

Another impending departure, wherever Jesse Lingard ends up – his rating will most likely be 78. He hasn’t featured much this campaign and when he has, hasn’t accomplished much.

Juan Mata – 78 (+0)

Once again – another likely to leave, but a sad one for Manchester United fans.

One of the nicest blokes in football will be playing elsewhere next year, but we think it’d be harsh to downgrade the Spanish magician anymore. He’ll remain the same.

Hannibal Mejbri – 70 (+8)

One of the largest increases we’re going to see for any Manchester United player. Hannibal has pushed into the first team now and is starting to show fans what he’s all about.

He is a fierce midfielder with a lot of tenacity. He should be rewarded with a hefty upgrade from his 62 rated card in FIFA 22.

Jadon Sancho – 85 (-2)

One of the shocks of the season has been the fact that Jadon Sancho didn’t hit the ground running. He was nothing short of immense for Borussia Dortmund and when he signed in the summer after a long-awaited arrival fans were buzzing.

Despite this – he hasn’t been too great, which is why he probably will get a -2 downgrade. Let’s hope next season he can refind his world-class form.

Marcus Rashford – 82 (-3)

The curious case of Marcus Rashford. Off the field – immense. On the field – not so much.

It’s such a shame to see his fall from grace. One of the best youngsters in the world not so long ago but now he looks completely off it and has endured his worst season yet by a mile.

A -3 looks likely, so we’ll probably be seeing an 82 rated Marcus Rashford in FIFA 23.

Anthony Elanga – 75 (+10)

The largest upgrade we’re going to see. Anthony Elanga has been one of the bright sparks of United’s season as his presence in the squad this year simply wasn’t expected – however when called upon he has shined.

We think he’ll sit as a 75 rated non-rare gold and will be an excellent player for a starter squad in FIFA 23.

Anthony Martial – 80 (-1)

Let’s predict another Anthony. This time someone who has fell way out of favour with United fans.

A loan move to Sevilla that wasn’t successful will see Anthony Martial return to Manchester, but for how long? We’re unsure. Whatever happens – he should be returning with a downgrade.

Edinson Cavani – 83 (-2)

Our final anticipated departure, Edinson Cavani most likely won’t be wearing red next year.

He also wasn’t wearing red for the majority of this year, he only accumulated a total of 910 minutes throughout the season. For this reason alone a -2 downgrade is what we’re offering him.
