As per Voetbal International, Feyenoord have reported to SC Heerenveen for the services of Robin van Persie. The Rotterdammers want to take the trainer on immediately as the permanent managerial successor of Brian Priske.
The Danish boss left in mutual circumstances back on the 10th of February and has since been replaced by former Feyenoord player Pascal Bosschaart as interim manager.
Currently, Van Persie is in his first season in Friesland. Before that, he worked as a striker coach and managed Feyenoord’s Under 18s. In 2024, he obtained his UEFA Pro diploma.
Van Persie, of course, started his football playing career at Feyenoord. He then played for Arsenal, Manchester United and Fenerbahçe, before returning to De Kuip in 2018 to end his career. Van Persie played 102 international matches for the Dutch national team, scoring 50 goals.
His son Shaqueel also remains in the club’s youth ranks and stands as one of many connections between the manager and Feyenoord.
