🇳🇱 Feyenoord strengthen title hopes with thrilling victory over Ajax | OneFootball

Feyenoord emerged victorious from a thrilling Klassieker with rivals Ajax on Sunday to move six points clear at the top of the Eredivisie table.

Scorers: Álvarez 17′, Tadić 37′; Giménez 5′, Szymański 52′, Geertruida 86′

It was the visitors from Rotterdam who opened the scoring after just five minutes, when Santiago Giménez stunned the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

Their lead didn’t last long, however, and it was another Mexican who found the net to equalise for Ajax, with Edson Álvarez heading home from a corner.

The hosts then went in front eight minutes before half-time, with Dušan Tadić’s effort creeping in after a brilliant pass from Steven Berghuis.

But Feyenoord came out fighting in the second half and were soon on level terms, when Sebastian Szymański emphatically finished from Alireza Jahanbakhsh’s cross.

And in the dying minutes, Feyenoord full-back Lutsharel Geertruida converted from a corner to pull off a dramatic victory and send the visiting supporters wild.

What a title race we have on our hands in the Netherlands.
